Cramers
A century-strong, family-owned company outfitting Philadelphia’s scholars — and now Delaware’s too. Led by fourth-generation CEO Matthew Laken.
Matthew Laken
Fourth-generation leader of a 100-year Philadelphia institution — on a mission to outfit scholars, build partnerships, and inspire greatness across two states.
Energy. Execution.
And the most heart.
My leadership style is built on energy, execution, and belief in people. As a fourth-generation leader at Cramers Uniforms, leadership means showing up consistently, setting the tone, and creating a culture where people feel empowered to grow, win, and inspire others: In uniform, we succeed.
I lead with passion, urgency, and the most heart. I want our team, partners, and schools to feel the commitment behind everything we do. We don’t just provide uniforms — we provide community. We help students walk into their schools with pride and confidence, ready to accomplish their wildest dreams.
I believe great leaders serve first, outwork everyone, and bring others with them on the journey. I’m big on relationships, accountability, and execution velocity. Ideas are important, but bringing them to life is what separates good from great.
We didn’t come this far to only come this far.
At the core, my leadership is about building something bigger than myself — honoring a legacy while pushing forward with innovation, relentless optimism, and what us Philadelphians affectionately call a Hungry Dog Mentality.
To me, the most important thing is to inspire others to be great in whatever they’re most passionate about. Greatness isn’t only what you achieve — it’s what you inspire others to. Not just the work you put in, but the standard you elevate for others to follow.
What’s the value of a huge win if it’s not shared? The more the merrier. Everyone’s invited. Legacy is truly measured by how many people you helped believe in themselves and go chase something bigger.
In life, all you have is your name and your word. Make their value immeasurable.
The work behind the win
